Badass Ravi Kumar Full review and Reaction

Himesh Reshammiya’s ‘Badass Ravi Kumar’ has finally hit theaters, and I can’t even describe how happy I am while saying this. But before we talk about the movie, you need a little background.

11 years ago, in 2014, Himesh Sir’s movie ‘The Xposé’ was released, where we first saw the character of Ravi Kumar. And now, as action movies are making a comeback, with big stars returning and masala action dominating the industry, Lord Himesh has revived this character once again!

‘Badass Ravi Kumar’ is not just any film; it’s actually the second movie in ‘The Xposé Universe’! Yes, you heard it right—a cinematic universe!

Did They Even Think Twice Before Making This?

Look, we all knew from the start what this film was going to be like. But the funniest thing is that Himesh Sir and his team must have spent months making this, and yet, did it never cross their minds to stop and think, “What exactly are we doing?”

Now, the real question is—before judging a film, should we consider the purpose behind making it? If the makers themselves declare upfront that “this film will be completely illogical”, should we watch it from that perspective?

The Style and Flavor of the Film

This film is a tribute to 80s-style masala movies. And to watch it, you need to wear those nostalgic glasses—where you shouldn’t expect big production budgets, top-tier VFX, or deep storytelling. It’s purely about “entertainment, entertainment, and entertainment.”

And oh boy, the dialogues… Oh my god!
The hall had barely 25-30 people, but the atmosphere was electrifying. Every other scene was met with whistles, claps, and uncontrollable laughter.

Some ‘badass’ dialogues for you:

  • “Whoever messes with Ravi Kumar, their photo gets adorned with a garland.”
  • “No dream has the audacity to become outdated in Ravi Kumar’s eyes!”
  • “Even a lion can get trapped in a pack of dogs.”
  • “Protocols are for those who follow them!”

I mean, the overdose of such dialogues makes you question whether you’re watching a movie or attending a stand-up comedy show!

The Story No Logic, Just Pure Madness!

The plot revolves around a secret reel containing classified information on India’s top secret agents. The villain, “Carlos Pedro” (played by Prabhu Deva), is after it. Multiple parties get involved in the mission, there’s a love triangle, and everyone seems to be out for revenge against Ravi Kumar.

Prabhu Deva The Only Saving Grace?

Prabhu Deva enters the scene, and honestly, he seems to be the only person in the movie who actually understood “Where have we landed?” His over-the-top expressions and moves make the film even funnier.

Technical Glitches Headache or Comedy?

Now, here’s something weird. After the interval, I noticed that the camera was shaking, and after-images were appearing for every movement. At first, I thought there was something wrong with my eyes, but then I realized they might have used the wrong shutter speed while shooting.

And then suddenly, the screen goes black! And when it comes back—Spider-Man appears!

Yes, Spider-Man!

I mean, so much randomness was happening in this movie that my brain completely shut down.

So, How Is the Film?

To be completely honest, this film is bad! But if you add an ‘ass’ after ‘bad,’ it becomes ‘badass’—and that’s the whole charm of the film!

If you go in knowing that you’re about to witness something completely ridiculous, you’ll enjoy it. But if you take it seriously, you’ll regret it within the first 15 minutes!

Final Verdict Should You Watch It?

  • If you enjoy “so bad it’s good” movies, this is a perfect crazy experience.
  • If you love logic, strong storytelling, and quality cinema—this will be your worst nightmare.

Rating:

★★★★☆ (4/5) if you embrace its ‘badassness’.

So, the choice is yours—can you endure this, or will you enjoy it for what it is?
Because this isn’t just any movie, this is ‘Badass Ravi Kumar’!
