Speech on Republic Day
Honorable Chief Guest, Respected Teachers, and My Dear Friends,
My name is Rahul, and today I stand here to express my thoughts on the occasion of India’s 76th Republic Day. First of all, I wish you all a very Happy Republic Day. This day holds a very special place in the hearts of all Indians, as it reminds us of our Constitution and the freedom, rights, and duties it grants us.
As we all know, every year on 26th January, Republic Day is celebrated with great enthusiasm throughout India. This day is one of the most glorious and significant days in Indian history. While our country achieved independence from British rule on 15th August 1947, India became a fully sovereign republic on 26th January 1950, when our Constitution came into effect. This marked India’s transformation into a democratic and independent nation.
Our Constitution is the largest written constitution in the world, granting equal rights and freedom to every citizen of the country. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar is considered the architect of our Constitution. Under his leadership, the Constituent Assembly drafted the Constitution of India. The Constitution has provided us with the ideals of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity.

On Republic Day, we must also remember the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives to grant us independence. Mahatma Gandhi, Subhas Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and countless other great leaders dedicated their lives for India’s freedom. Their struggle and sacrifices will always inspire us.
Since independence, India has made remarkable progress in various fields. From agriculture, industries, and education to science and technology, our country has achieved great milestones. Today, India has established itself as a prominent nation on the global stage. Achievements like Chandrayaan and the Mars Mission showcase our scientific capabilities. Initiatives like Digital India and Startup India are preparing the nation for a brighter future.
However, friends, our country still faces several challenges. Issues like unemployment, illiteracy, corruption, gender inequality, and poverty remain hurdles in our path. We must work together to overcome these challenges. A country can only progress when its citizens understand their responsibilities alongside their rights.
Republic Day is not just a day of celebration but also a moment for introspection. We must think about how we can contribute to the development and prosperity of our nation. We must ensure that the rights granted by our Constitution are not misused. At the same time, we should strive to fulfill our duties and become responsible and ideal citizens.
On this day, let us pledge to contribute to eradicating poverty, illiteracy, and other social evils from our country. We must rise above caste, religion, and language barriers and work towards preserving the unity and integrity of our nation.
Republic Day teaches us to remain dedicated to our duties towards our country. We must strive to make India a nation where every citizen enjoys equal rights and opportunities.
In conclusion, I would like to say that India is a great nation. Its diversity, culture, and heritage make it stand out in the world. We should be proud of our country and work together to make it even greater.
Jai Hind! Jai Bharat!
